Kate Baker was born in Australia in 1950. She commenced her formal art training at Emily Mc Pherson College in 1978. She started to paint seriously with Joan Bognuda in 1990 in a traditional realist method using water colours, and sold her paintings at the 'Mornington Gallery' and at Frankston Art Shows. After returning from a tour of Portugal and Paris she was inspired to change to oils and experimented and enjoyed painting large vibrantly coloured abstract works. Many of these pieces were commissioned for private homes. In recent times Kate's style has developed yet again, she is still loving bright colours, but has recently experimented with acrylic paint. and her colours have mellowed to capture and beautifully portray the beauty of the Peninsula etc. Her recent works have been sold on line, in galleries and Art exhibitions. |
