ARTIST BIO

Jess King is a Brisbane based landscape, seascape and animal artist working mostly in acrylic. She is forever inspired by nature and the colour it holds and her paintings are a response expressed in colour, texture and movement.

Jess King studied Visual Communication, worked professionally in the advertising industry and started a design agency which has been running for several years. After immigrating to Australia she continued to work as a visual artist but felt the need to express herself in a less structured way.

As a child she always loved to draw and paint and decided to try her hand once again. It wasn’t long before she found herself completely immersed in the art world.

Her inspiration comes from her love of nature and exceptionally beautiful surrounds, both in its simplicity and complexity. She loves to experiment with texture and colour, working mainly in acrylics, but also produces work in ink, charcoal, pencil and mixed media, using varying techniques and multiple layers within her paintings.

Jess holds collections in New Zealand, England, Australia, Africa and United States of America.
