Australian born .City and country based artist.Intuitively drawn to artistic practices as a young child.Drawing,painting and books became close and treasured friends.Trained as Primary Teacher and Special Education Teacher.(TPTC.and TSp.TC.)Practiced in this field for approximately twelve years.Travelled through North America,Central America and South America for twelve months in my twenties.Greatly interested in the Incan,Mayan and Aztec cultures.Upon returning to Australia I resolved to explore my dormant, but never lost ,attachment to my personal art.Began exploring the range of art and craft markets available and sold mainly at St.Kilda and then for approximately eight years at Southbank Market on the Yarra in Melbourne.My works are held in private collections around the world.During this time I spent three months living in Beijing,China and developed an interest in their script and penmanship .Started life-drawing classes and immediately related to the beauty of line and the instant dynamics.Have kept this love affair going until present time.Life circumstances interupted my art practice for large spans of time but the interest and love never wavered.I connected and engaged whenever I was able in Community exhibitions,including The Victorian Teachers Union Exhibition,that resulted in the VTU purchasing one of my works,Womens'Art Register,Life member of ROAR Gallery and many more.Also entered The Artz Blitz 24hr.competition for several years and Linden Postcard Show.I am currently a member of GEAS(GlenEira Art Society),BAG(Beaumaris Art Group) and HAG(Hughesdale Art Group).I have won several awards and sold my works to private collectors.Currently I am exploring the public exhibitions available.Most recent selection inclusion was St.Kevins College Melbourne,2017. |
