An art enthusiat all his life, in recent years Giancarlo has rediscovered his passion for lino-cut and has taken up screen-printing. Giancarlo is a member of Megalo Print Studio, in Canberra, where he now does most of his works. He has exhibited regularly at Megalo's members exhbitions and entrered works in several national and international art shows.
Giancarlo's more recent paper screen-prints tend to exhibit pictorial qualities achieved through the use of CYMK four colour printing printing process technique. All his prints start from an original drawing, either black and white or colour pencils and pastels. The subject of the works tend to range, but a common theme is an attempt to achieve a balanced and aesthetically pleasing composition. Where they convey a 'message', this is never overt nor conspicuous, but requires the viewer's discovery and interpretation.
Giancarlo's works are represented in several private collections in Australia and overseas. |
